The supra geniuses over at Sili Valley's Tesla motors have been unquick to admit their hot new EV is really a Lotus Elise in drag. The Tesla is so Elise on the inside it hurts, from the dash binnacle to the air vents to the steering wheel -- right down to the parking brake handle...

The flagship Lamborghini Murciélago -- the 640-hp LP640 -- is now sans top. The company is introducing its LP640 Roadster at the LA show this week. Like its coupe sibling, the roadster is powered by Lamborghini's 6.5-liter "longitudinale posteriore" V12, which produces 486 lb-ft or torque and revs to 8,000 rpm. Developed alongside the V8 Vantage Coupe which was launched in 2005, the Roadster shares the unique-to-Aston Martin bonded aluminium VH (Vertical Horizontal) architecture - the backbone to all modern Aston Martins. Adding to this structure are materials such as lightweight alloys, magnesium and advanced composites.

The 2007 Audi TT coupe was unveiled earlier this August, the new Audi TT Roadster will carry a 3.2 liter V6 engine producing 250 horsepower giving it the ability to do 0-60 in just 6.5 seconds, and has a quattro drive system as standard. The base model of the car comes in a 2.0 liter TFSI motor producing 200 horsepower with front-wheel drive. Transmission choices in the new Audi TT Roadster include a six-speed manual or dual-clutch system called S-tronic.

Seat will produce a road-going version of the Tango concept car (if commercially viable).
