Police in Bedfordshire are trialling a device which will scan drivers' fingerprints and check them against a national database.

The 640bhp Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 will be at MPH'06 on the Met Police stand -- we hear that the 6.5-ltre V12-powered machine had to be hurried covered during the photo-shoot as it was in danger of causing traffic accidents.
However, the Met Police was at pains to say that the 211mph, £180,000 supercar hasn't been paid for with public money. But in the eight miles that the Met Police was allowed to drive it, it was stopped twice by other Met units, having committed no traffic violations.
