Ford's iconic Mustang has given birth to a bold, intimidating sedan: the Ford Interceptor concept.
The automaker is to release images of the vehicle today and plans to display it at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, which opens to the media Jan. 7.

Reinterpreted by Giorgetto Giugaro, his son Fabrizio, and the rest of the highly skilled designers at the famed Giugaro design works in Turin, this 'Stang represents an impressive blend of American muscle and Italian design. To create the car's unique look, Giugaro pulled the body panels in as tight as they could go, reduced the rear overhang, and widened the car by 1.2 inches in the front and 3.1 inches at the back. The result is a beautiful fastback that fills our heads with images of early-'70s Boss Mustangs.
