Rinspeed has resurrected the Lotus submarine-car from the James Bond movie The Spy Who Loved Me, but this time it’s real.
Dubbed the sQuba, this transformed Lotus Elise can go straight from land to water. Of course, the car is not sealed so you have to wear a scuba mask attached to the car’s integrated compressed air tank when underwater.
As if being a submarine wasn’t enough, the sQuba is also a zero-emissions vehicle. While on land, the car is completely powered by rechargeable Lithium-Ion batteries.

Electric car manufacturer ZAP has announced plans to display Lotus Engineering's advanced APX concept car at the North American Dealers Association (NADA) annual meeting and exhibition, February 3 to 6, 2007, confirming that it will use Lotus' revolutionary platform and body structure design as the basis for the development of the high performance electric ZAP-X.

The supra geniuses over at Sili Valley's Tesla motors have been unquick to admit their hot new EV is really a Lotus Elise in drag. The Tesla is so Elise on the inside it hurts, from the dash binnacle to the air vents to the steering wheel -- right down to the parking brake handle...

Dropped my Elise off to the local Goodyear shop to have new F1G3s installed. My Father-in-law is the service manager and has been for 10 years. He is out on medical leave, but he met me at the shop this morning, because he understands the uniqueness of the car.

Proton Holdings Bhd., Malaysia's biggest carmaker, will collapse unless it finds an international partner such as Volkswagen AG, said former premier Mahathir Mohamad, who set up the company more than two decades ago.

Barabus Sports Cars ltd. have been working on a car with over 1000 horsepower for over 10 years. It is said to reach 270 mph, and go from 0-60 in less than 3 seconds. It will be powered by a Twin-Turbo 6.0L V8, and is rumored to cost less than $500,000.
