Aptera Motors, a small company based in California is readying an amazing 300 mpg, under $30,000 hybrid car for production. In fact they are so far along in the development process they are taking reservations.
The vehicle will be able to charge from any stand 110-volt outlet, according to company specs.

Honda will unveil its Small Hybrid Sports Concept at the Geneva Auto Show. Not much is known about the hybrid other than the fact that it was designed by Honda R&D Europe in Offenbach, Germany. And from the image, the new car is miles ahead of the tadpole-esque Honda Insight.

Ford Motor has unveiled what it is calling the world's first drivable fuel cell hybrid electric vehicle with plug-in capability.
The new prototype Ford Edge model is based on HySeries Drive powertrain technology which features an onboard hydrogen fuel cell together with a "lithium-ion" fuel cell.

The Detroit auto show is a huge theater, a Las Vegas-like stage where carmakers do their best to thrill and amaze a world audience. Toyota will step up this year and present its FT-HS Hybrid Sports Concept, a futuristic sports car that would be powered by a 400-horsepower hybrid powertrain.

Toyota has gone back to the future with the lightweight tandem two-seater Renewable Lifestyle Vehicle.
The concept has a "manual" - or pedal - mode that allows its owners to keep in shape and conserve fuel by pedalling during traffic jams.
