CCX stands for Competition Coupe X. The CCX is the latest iteration of the Koenigsegg CC family. The CCX is in many aspects a new car since it has been re-engineered to comply with the US regulation and market demands.
The CCX now features wholly digital, intelligent fuse and relay unit. This means that there are not physical fuses or relays as such. The unit is programmable and is can-bus connected to a display unit which sends crucial information to the driver. The main advantages of this system are its reliability, light weight, small...

The Z29 is an exercise in lightweight vehicle construction, lesson learned from which will later find their way into production BMWs. The Z29's resemblance to the Z4 is unmistakable, but the featherweight coupe employs extensive use of aluminum in its chassis and hardware components and carbon fiber for its body. Superfluous pounds were reportedly removed from all corners of the car. The Z29's lambo-style doors, for instance, are so light that BMW is able to get away with using only one small hinge per door. The net effect of the BMW diet is a...

One of the features of the early 21st century has been the growth in the number of independent supercar makers. Names such as Pagani and Koenigsegg have entered the motoring vernacular and proved that with the right backing and the right expertise, small consortiums can challenge the might of Ferrari and Lamborghini.
Based in the heart of England, Ascari is well-resourced and deadly serious. The company's latest supercar, the carbon-fiber KZ1, will be built in a limited run of 50 cars, guaranteeing unrivalled exclusivity in return for...

The British Motor Show has proved a damp squib in recent years, but a move to Excel, away from the prison hall environment of the NEC in Birmingham, has managed to breathe new life into the show.

How do you deal with an iconic but aging design? With plenty of care and caution. Such is the case with the Audi TT, which has existed basically unchanged since its debut in 1998. The new car, introduced on a live internet video feed on April 6, looks very similar to the outgoing model. It maintains the circle and dome motifs that made the little coupe famous, but proportion changes make the car look lower, sleeker, and more aggressive. The same is true of the interior, which, while completely redesigned, looks like a smoothed over version of...

The appearance of the Lamborghini Gallardo at the 2003 Geneva show threatened the raison d'être of the Murcielago, which had been launched two years prior. The smaller, lighter car was virtually as quick as its big brother, if not quite as extroverted. The obvious next move was to make the Murcielago even faster and wilder, and thus was born the Murcielago LP640. As though the top Lambo wasn't already fast enough, Lamborghini enlarged the V12 from 6.2 to 6.5 liters for a bump in power from 580 to 640 hp. In case you're worried about the Cribs...

The Tesla Roadster is the first automobile to be produced by electric car firm Tesla Motors. The car was officially unveiled on July 20, 2006. Tesla claims prototypes have been able to accelerate from 0-60 mph (100 km/h) in about 4 seconds, and reach a top speed of 130 mph (210 km/h). Additionally, the car will be able to travel 250 miles (400 km) on a single charge of its batteries.
Pricing for the Tesla Roadster has not been announced, although Tesla CEO Mark Eberhard has speculated that it would "cost between $85,000 and $120,000."
