Lamborghini officialy unveiled the new Gallardo Superleggera, a light weight version of the Gallardo that has an increased output of 10 horsepower. The weight/power ratio of the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera is only 2.5 kg/hp, which puts it at the top. The V10 530 horsepower engine along with its robotized mechanical ‘e-gear’ gearbox, gives the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera the ability to do 0-62 mph in 3.8 seconds.
The sports car will be available to order through dealers starting March of 2007, but production will be limited...

IMSA is presenting a Lamborghini Gallardo monster. What makes it different from other tuner's cars is that the production and final quality control is done by high-tech machinery which you will only find in the Formula One.
Maximum torque is 655 Nm at 5300 rpm, meaning the all-wheel-drive system had to be modified to cope with the increased power. What's more, the Gallardo's chassis was tuned for even better handling and stability.

This is not exactly a new story, but here you have a video and some photos.
The car, which has a list price of $165,000 (€145,180), comes fully equipped -- flashing blue light and siren included.
And unlike most other police cars it has a state-of-the-art defibrillator -- although just the sound of its engine should be enough to make your heart jump.

The Audi R8 uses the mid-engine Lamborghini Gallardo platform, and will sell for around $100,000. Sales will begin in the first half of 2007 for the United States and Europe.
Originally introduced as the Le Mans concept at the 2003 Frankfurt Motor Show, Audi announced plans to build a production version last year. It wasn't too much of a surprise as the concept used numerous off-the-shelf parts and Audi has been itching to build an exotic sports car for years.

Lamborghini at the Paris Motor Show will present the new special edition Gallardo Nera — a limited-production version of the popular super coupe. Back in May, we told you about the Gallardo Privilegio, which appears to be the same vehicle. At the time, Lamborghini released details to dealers but not to the press. The Nera is something of a showcase of Lamborghini's personalization choices available to all Gallardo customers. The vehicle features a glossy black paint scheme with matte black inserts. Audi's goal is to become every bit as racy and blue-blooded as its German competitors, and the company is about to take a big step forward in that pursuit.
The R8 is expected to have the same 425 horsepower V8 engine as the Audi RS4, but weight just 3500 lbs, compared to the RS4’s 4200 lbs. Those figures should be good for a 0-60 mph time in the low-4.0 second range. It is based on the Lamborghini Gallardo platform. Everything from the aluminum space frame to the all-wheel-drive system is from the Lamborghini (Audi owns Lambo).

Bullrun 2006 started today and a Lamborghini has a license plate frame, which makes the plate unreadable with the press of a button, another press and its back to normal. This vehicle is in the cross country race, and may be speeding past you soon! Race runs for the next nine days! This is something that we all will need to beat traffic cameras!
