US comedian and actor Eddie Griffin was was practising for a charity race to promote his new film Redline when he drove too fast around a curve at the Irwindale speedway in California and smashed into a concrete barrier.
The Enzo was owned by the film's executive producer, Daniel Sadek, whose exotic car collection was featured in the movie.
Sadek said the car was beyond repair and that he had "mixed feelings" about the wreck.

French police are investigating a car crash involving a billionaire Russian parliamentarian who was critically injured when his Ferrari Enzo slammed into a tree on the Mediterranean seafront in Nice.

A man killed Saturday after the car he was driving collided with a tree on Boots Road was identified Sunday as 64-year-old Gary Irwin Eisenberg of Incline Village, Nev., authorities said.
Eisenberg was driving a 2003 Ferrari Enzo that struck a tree while he was trying to make a right turn, authorities said. The car, which had caught fire, was discovered at 5:55 p.m., said the California Highway Patrol. Eisenberg was pronounced dead at the scene.

Replacing Okuyama will be company Chairman Andrea Pininfarina until a permanent replacement is found.
Ken Okuyama was previously with the company back in 1995 and is credited with designing the Enzo and 612, among others.
Although the identity of the car's owner is being withheld by the company selling it on his behalf, Flogit4u.com, it revealed that he is a UK resident.
Clearly, he was one careful owner, as the car only has 500 miles on the clock and a full service history. And then there's the question of insurance. The V12 engine takes the car from nought to 60mph in 3.3 seconds. It has a top speed of 218 mph.

This Enzo was participating in a rally in Utah on August 2, 2006 to raise money for charity when it lost control and rolled several times at very high speed. The driver, Richard Losee, suffered a cracked vertebrae in his neck and back, a few broken ribs and some other minor injuries.

Richard Losee was going close to 200mph, and hit a bump in the road that sent him airborne. The car rolled 7 times and was flat as a pancake. Fortunetly he was wearing a helmet. He has cracked vertebrae in his neck and back, 4 broken ribs, broken sternum, some broken fingers, and the only surgery he made need is on his thumb. Nothing life threatening. He is refusing pain medication because he thinks he needs to be punished!

The owner is Richard Losee, he's the one that loaned his Enzo for Road and Track's first Enzo review, he is determined to put more milage on his Enzo than any other Enzo, he drives it everyday.
He is a real car enthusiast and he bought an extra set of doors to do that.
