
Donkervoort, a company based in the Netherlands, have been creating open top sports cars for some years. The Donkervoort D8 GT Coupe is based on the D8 Roadster but with a fixed carbon fibre roof and a-pillar mounted mirrors. The Donkervoort D8 GT Coupe is also equipped with a rollcage. Overall weight of the D8 GT Coupe is only 20 kgs heavier than the roadster version. 50 Donkervoort D8 GT Coupes will be made each year.

Despite the funny name, Dutch company Donkervoort has been building some pretty serious sports cars, and their latest model is just about to be revealed. They’ve been working on a fixed-roof version of the D8 roadster by adding a carbon fibre roof and wing mirrors. The D8 also has a roll-cage, and the GT version will be only 20kg heavier than the roadster. It’s powered by Audi’s 1.8T 20V engine that develops between 180 and 270hp.
