The deal is done, Ford Motor Company has sold Aston Martin to a consortium led by Prodrive founder David Richards, Aston Martin collector John Sinders, and Kuwait's Investment Dar and Adeem Investment Co.

The French luxury goods maker that owns Louis Vuitton has issued a stinging rebuttal to internet rumours that the company is going to buy the Aston Martin sports car brand. A spokesperson for LVMH told Autocar that the rumour is “absolute rubbish". "There is no truth in this story whatsoever,” he went on.
LVMH had shown interest last autumn along with about 25 other companies when Ford first put Aston Martin up for sale, but didn’t follow-up with a formal bid. “We didn’t even get to first base,” says the spokesman.

Aston Martin is being bought by LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA, the most high-profile luxury goods consortium in the world, joining the 60-or-so other brands that already make up the group. Aston Martin will be the first luxury car brand in LVMH's portfolio and it is the first to be run by a lifestyle/luxury goods group. The sale price wasn't revealed, but Aston Martin was reportedly valued at as much as $1.2 billion last December. Aston Martin’s factory prepared, production standard, N24 V8 Vantage is to take to the race track again at the 24-hour race of Bahrain, 15-16 December.

Prodrive has developed a range of performance parts for the Aston Martin V8 Vantage, and they'll be available early next year. Prodrive was the obvious company to do the work, since it runs the DBR9 GT1 race team and could therefore be expected to know a thing or two about Astons.
The range includes: a performance pack for the engine; new driver-adjustable suspension; unique forged wheels; and a discreet aero package.

Developed alongside the V8 Vantage Coupe which was launched in 2005, the Roadster shares the unique-to-Aston Martin bonded aluminium VH (Vertical Horizontal) architecture - the backbone to all modern Aston Martins.
