Suicide Prevention Group Tells GM to Yank Robot Spot
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is a little upset with General Motors over the automaker's Super Bowl XLI spot in which a GM factory robot -- obsessed with quality -- dreams it loses its job, becomes depressed and jumps off a bridge.
The group is asking for a statement of apology from GM and wants the automaker to "take steps to inform the public about mental illness and suicide."
ccording to the release, this includes "taking the ads off the GM website, the online advertising campaign and restricting sites such as www.youtube.com from posting the ad."
