Florida Highway Patrol said Tridico, 39, was speeding when he lost the handle on his brand new sports car on State Road 429 in Orange County.
The Troopers say he skidded more than 1,000 feet before the actual impact. Tridico indicated that another vehicle had allegedly cut him off, but troopers said they didn’t believe him based on the skid marks.
A representative for the highway patrol is quoted with saying, “Just because you can afford a $400,000 car doesn’t mean you know how to drive it.”
Tridico was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident.
