Swedish automotive design graduate Jon RÃ¥dbrink presented a concept for a catamaran-shaped car at the Royal College of Art graduation show in London last month.

Called the Lexus Nuaero, it features motors in the wheels and a touch-screen dashboard where the information and controls can be moved around.

The driving system is controlled solely by hand without the use of foot pedals; to break, the driver pushes the steering wheel away from their body.

What’s believed to be the world’s first Tesla Roadster crash took place in San Francisco at the corner of Geary and Gough streets. There were no reported injuries in the accident, in which the Tesla ended up between (and partially underneath) a Mercedes and a Toyota Camry.
Tesla promises sub-$30k all-electric car

After Tesla CEO Ze'ev Drori announced Telsa's plans to build the Model S, Elon Musk began discussing its development of electric car tech to get the price of future cars to (and below) $30,000. When asked when that technology would be commercially available, Musk said that it shouldn't be any more than four years from now. Granted, a $60,000 car is affordable but still quite steep for most buyers -- but a vehicle mass-produced at half the price is essentially mainstream, which could have a...

For some Ferrari faithful, every prancing mare that comes out of the factory should be painted in red. Yellow, black, down and grey are just evident profane, and perhaps that’s why some of the purest Ferraris, the F40 and 288 GTO, were only presented in red. Well, if something but Rosso Corsa bothers you, then this particular Ferrari will give you the shivers. This uber-bling wonder takes advantage of the 599GTB's aluminum body and simply classes up the joint, with thousands of hours of...

Imagine a Toyota Prius, but faster, cleaner and greener. Such a car is coming soon and will launch at the Detroit auto show in January 2009.

America has fallen for the Prius in a big way, no doubt about that. Five years on, through an extraordinary combination of style, engineering and marketing, Toyota's fuel sipping hybrid remains the absolute gold standard for eco cars in the industry.

The next generation, however, has all the makings of an even bigger hit. That's because it will be a...
